Bankdata is in the middle of one of the biggest technological transformations in our history. We are moving from a mainframe-heavy platform to a modern, cloud-native architecture, where we build secure, scalable and future-proof solutions that power Danish finance.
As a Software Developer, you will be a key part of this journey. You’ll get the chance to work with event-driven architecture, microservices, OpenShift and AWS – while contributing to the development of some of the most business-critical systems in Bankdata.
Build robust systems that benefit the banks
You will become part of either the Antifraud team or the Power of Attorney team – two specialised teams with different technological focus areas, but with the same mission: to create robust, modern and cloud-ready solutions for our member banks.
Antifraud – New defences against fraud
Here we are building a brand new antifraud platform on OpenShift, based on microservices, events and hexagonal architecture.
From 2026, we will scale the solution with AI to detect behavioural patterns and prevent fraud in real time.
Power of Attorney – Modernising critical infrastructure
The team works on a solution that handles more than 80 million API calls per month.
We are re-architecting the system to an event-driven architecture and migrating it to AWS in 2026 – while at the same time building new self-service capabilities for corporate customers.
Both teams work in an agile way, share knowledge with intent and build software based on solid engineering principles.
Your contribution – Set direction with modern engineering
In this role, you’ll take ownership of code, architecture and collaboration. Among other things, you will:
Develop microservice- and event-driven solutions on modern platforms
Contribute to cloud adoption and the further development of OpenShift
Write well-structured and maintainable code based on DDD, SOLID and Clean Code
Implement observability via e.g. Grafana and OpenTelemetry
Set technical direction through sparring, code reviews and architecture discussions
Challenge suboptimal solutions and help ensure that we build the right things – not just quickly
Mentor colleagues and help raise the engineering level in the team
In the first 6–12 months, you will:
Gain a full understanding of your team’s domain and modern architectural principles
Take an active part in re-architecture, cloud enablement and technical decision-making
Build new services and functionality in close collaboration with the business
Establish yourself as a technical sparring partner for the team and help shape good engineering practices
Contribute to building a culture where we challenge each other, share knowledge and build high-quality solutions
Your profile – Elevate our engineering practice
You’ll be a great fit with us if you:
Have 2+ years of experience as a software developer (typically 4+ years for senior roles)
Have strong skills in Java or another JVM language
Have experience with microservices, containers and preferably Kubernetes/OpenShift
Understand the principles behind event-driven architecture
Are genuinely engaged in your craft – you care about patterns, principles and quality
Want to take responsibility, challenge solutions and help shape how we build software
Bonus:
Experience with cloud (preferably AWS)
Interest in machine learning/AI, especially in relation to fraud/anomaly detection
What do we offer?
With us, you get:
A central role in a technological transformation with high strategic importance
The opportunity to work with modern cloud-native technologies
An engaged engineering environment with focus on quality, sparring and professional development
A team that values curiosity, collaboration and the courage to challenge
