The Role

As our new Data Scientist, you will report directly to the Business Development Director and become part of a growing cross-functional team of 12 specialists. The team has a broad skill set spanning data science, analytics, process optimization, project delivery, and digital development, and works closely with both the IT department and the wider Intrum organization.

Location: Valby, Copenhagen

Work model: Hybrid (a flexible mix of office and home)

Purpose of the Role

You will play a central role in developing, improving, and operationalizing Intrum Denmark’s AI backbone, including our neural network-based Event Engine. Your work will influence automation, compliance, efficiency, decision-making, and the overall performance of the organization.

Your Responsibilities

You will help develop and maintain the Event Engine, Intrum’s core neural network powering ~90% of operational activities. More specifically, you will:

Develop and continuously optimize the Event Engine neural network

Implement model and system adjustments based on strategy, compliance, or capacity

Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure stability

Integrate AI components with internal systems—primarily our collections platform

Drive adoption of AI solutions across the operating model

Test, validate, and operationalize new AI use cases to improve effectiveness and efficiency.

What We Expect From You

Master’s degree in computer science, data science, economics, or related field

3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in AI-centric or operational environments

Experience deploying and operating machine learning models or neural networks in production

Strong Python skills with clean and maintainable coding practices

Strong analytical mindset and experience handling complex datasets

Deep understanding of AI/ML principles, especially neural networks and optimization

Experience integrating AI/ML solutions into business processes and systems

Fluency in Danish and English, written and spoken.

Strong Advantages

Experience with JULIA as a programming language

Knowledge of Agentic AI and agent-based intelligent systems

Familiarity with our tech stack and MLOps tools:

MLflow (model lifecycle management)

Airflow (workflow orchestration)

Prometheus/Grafana (monitoring and observability)

GIT (version control)

Experience with Databricks and frameworks like PyTorch or Scikit-Learn is a plus.
