Help build and deploy the data infrastructure of the next generation European bank

At kompasbank, we’re building a cloud-native, modular, future-proof bank for SMEs across Europe – and data is at the heart of everything we do!

We’re now looking for a skilled Data Engineer to help design, build, and operate our data infrastructure. Your work will be hands-on with our data infrastructure using mostly Python, dbt and technologies such as Fivetran, airflow. If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this is for you.

What you will be doing

You'll join our Tech department. and your work will range from designing data pipelines and AI intelligence solutions to bringing production-ready automated workflows live. Your daily work will include:

Build usable products for business lines, customers and decision data points for management.

Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, and SageMaker Unified Studio (data catalog).

Identify and automate business workflows using AI tools such as Windmill.

Collaborating with data owners to establish governance policies, quality standards, and ensure data accessibility across the organization.

Integrating data from internal and external sources, including APIs, databases, and third-party systems.

What we expect from you

We’re looking for someone who combines solid technical skills with a pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset.

Strong SQL/Python skills and experience with the modern data stack (dbt, Airflow, Fivetran).

Hands-on experience with AWS services (Glue, Athena, S3).

Strong knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse design.

Ability to design, deploy, and operate scalable data pipelines.

Understanding of database internals and query optimization techniques (indexes, partitioning, execution plans).

Knowledge of data governance, security, and performance optimization.

Curious, iterative, and collaborative with an ownership mindset.
